VAMC October Newsletter

October 14, 2021

Hello Visitation Families!

I hope everyone is doing well.  We wanted to update you on the exciting events to come. First, thank you to everyone who participated in the t-shirt sale and lunch program, both of which were a success due to the support and generosity of the VA community.  A BIG THANK YOU to ALC and Paneantico as well!!

We are already thinking about next semester’s lunch and hoping to expand the program.  We will be circulating a survey that will be used to determine what menu options to add.  Please participate in the survey; that is the best way to take everyone’s input into account.

There will be another opportunity to purchase t-shirts, including long sleeve shirts later this month.  Please be on the lookout for an email from the VAMC and texts from your Class Captains.

We recently sent home catalogs for the virtual Christmas fair.  I hope everyone had a chance to look through the catalogs, there are some very nice wrapping papers and yummy treats.  Please share the information with your friends and family; 40% of all sales go directly to VA!  Order forms and payment must be returned to school by October 20, 2021, in order to be timely processed.  All orders will be shipped to the Mothers’ Club and distributed at school.

Flyers regarding the 2021 Christmas ornament and a the first ever VAMC Thanksgiving Pie sale will be in your inboxes and backpacks soon.  I hope everyone is excited to add it to their holiday collection. The ornament will be available for sale on the VAMC website starting November 26th.  VA car magnets and VAMC pens are also available!

Finally, after much consideration and out of an abundance of caution we have decided to move Ladies Night Out to April.  The new date is April 8, 2022. I am hopeful that this change will allow for an even safer event and broader participation.  In the meantime, planning continues.  We are accepting raffle donations and sponsorship opportunities and journal ads are available on our website.  If you are interested in helping prepare for the event, please contact me.

In place of Ladies Night Out the Mothers’ Club will be hosting a virtual wine tasting event on November 19, 2021.  Details will follow.  We hope to see you there!

Message from the VAMC President

                                                                                                August 18, 2021

Dear Visitation Families,

My name is Colleen Britton, I am the 2021-2022 Visitation Academy Mothers’ Club (VAMC) President.  I am honored to serve as the president this year and look forward to planning exciting events for our girls.  I am especially excited to announce that some of our annual events will be returning this year, and the VAMC Executive Board and I are working on adding new events as well.

The Mothers’ Club is made up of mothers who volunteer their time to coordinate events and programs that support our school.  All VA moms are automatically a part of the Mothers’ Club, and your time, talent and contributions are much appreciated.  Everyone is welcome to participate, and I promise if you volunteer for just one event you will make a difference!  Throughout the year, we will send emails about various volunteer opportunities, and I welcome anyone to contact me if they would like to help at any time.

Please allow me to introduce this year’s VAMC Executive Board:

In addition to the Board, the Class Captains are an important aspect of our school community, as they assist in spreading information on upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.  This year’s Class Captains are:

            Kindergarten – Francesca Messina

            1st – Shani Glass

            2nd – Britt Ancona

            3rd – Louisa Heinz/Lindsay Cappello/Kerri Catalano

            4th – Daniella Sarkis

            5th – Keith Fredrickson

6th –  Position not yet filled

            7th – Leslie DeSanto

            8th – Antonella Bradley

For those entering Nursery, Mrs. Junsch and I will keep you advised of all upcoming events and important information.  As the year progresses, I welcome any Nursery parent to take on the role of Class Captain.  In addition, we are in need of a volunteer for the 6th grade class captain.

I invite all moms to join me on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at 7:00pm at Ponte Vecchio for our annual Meet & Greet.

In addition to our Welcome Dinner, I am thrilled to announce the return of Ladies Night Out!  Please save the date:  November 19, 2021 April 8, 2022.  As you may know, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and I am so happy to bring this tradition back for 2021.  If you are interested in helping us make this year’s LNO a success, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Invitations for the Welcome Dinner and Ladies Night Out will follow and information regarding upcoming events and important dates can always be found here on our website.

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

I look forward to seeing everyone when school starts.
